A message from Zack: In my mind, craft becomes fine craft when the maker sets their sights beyond the necessities of function in order to shape an aesthetic experience. This is exactly the way Devin approaches his brewing, and it’s how I make knives.
We share a deep fascination with the technical expertise of our crafts. His mastery blends ingredients with careful processes to produce thoughtfully conceived flavors. The conditions must be just right. Time and temperature are critical. My own work is just the same. I am struck by the thoughtful way Devin approaches brewing; it is so similar to how I approach my own work. We start with the idea and then work back from that to find our way into the form of a given project, both seeking to weave important thoughts and elements into the finished work.
Devin likes to design a beer for a moment. Bladesmith was designed for the evening after a hot day working in the forge fire. It is bright and refreshing; accessible, but balanced and interesting. We hope you will enjoy your moments with the brew, whatever those may be!
